It’s Time to Abolish ITAR

Taylor Dinerman has a good article in The Space Review dealing with the serious economic costs that ITAR, the International Trafficing in Arms Regulations has had on our commercial space business.

I know first-hand the hassle factor that ITAR brings to business, even large businesses that are used to dealing with government bureaucracies and military secrets. For small commercial enterprises, it can be downright debilitating.

It’s high time that the overreaction to some issues during the Clinton Administration get straightened out, so they are not so good at shipping high paying jobs overseas.
