Started working my way through Beginning iPhone Development: Exploring the iPhone SDK
” target=”_blank”>Beginning iPhone Development: Exploring the iPhone SDK by Dave Mark and Jeff LaMarche. It’s a good book, but not great.
There are some significant errors in it. In one case, in chapter 4, there’s a whole step missing. You are required to add a button to the interface, but there’s no mention of the step of actually adding the button in Interface Builder.
Also, the book doesn’t have any user exercises in the chapters. Cocoa(R) Programming for Mac(R) OS X (3rd Edition)
” target=”_blank”>Cocoa Programming for the Mac OS X by Aaron Hillegass includes a challenge exercise in almost every chapter (sometimes more than one) which requires you to put what you learned to use without the hand-holding the chapter provides.
I’d appreciate that effort in this book. But I’m enjoying the learning. And I’m seeing what I need to do to develop the applications that I have in mind.
