Kill this Bill

Meanwhile, over at Space News, we get an editorial telling us to “Kill this Bill.” It seems that the Congresscritters from certain districts, of both parties, want NASA to continue to spend money on porkbarrel projects designed mostly to put jobs in their districts, rather than optimizing their ability to do interesting things in space. As a result, they have put a bill in motion to attempt to remove many of the normal means of managing programs that NASA usually has for most programs, as well as asking the contractors to, you know, break the law and spend money set aside as a reserve for possible cancellations. So yes, we need to kill the bill.
