Put the Navy in charge of Space

This article argues, I believe correctly, that the Navy is the correct military branch for managing space, not the Air Force

Navy traditions are a better match for the way space works than are Air Force traditions. The results of the limits of physics more closely match Navy experience, and when it comes to manned space, the Navy has experience more appropriate for space missions, in the long duration missions away from home port, etc.

The things that we need to manage in space today would best fall under a Space Guard, similar to the Coast Guard mission, rather than any of the more combat oriented services.
